When All is Said and Done

Fifty Years of Popular Songs Condensed Into Single Sentences - Marc Haynes

I really love McSweeney’s. Clever, clever writing that always hits its mark. This one, for list makers, music lovers, lovers, losers and everyone else. The most ingenious thing I have read this weekend.

I had no idea it was all this simple.

Read the whole thing here.

The Beatles
, "I Want to Hold Your Hand"
I want to do it with you.

Marvin Gaye, "Let's Get It On"
I want to do it with you.

Led Zeppelin, "Whole Lotta Love"
I want to do it with you.

Frank Sinatra, "Strangers in the Night"
I'm drunk and I want to do it with you.

Elvis Presley, "Hound Dog"
You're doing it with everyone.

  3. Oh my good day! Excellent!

My favourites were Patsy Cline and Kings of Leon. I'll be chuckling for a while yet.

  4. Allison, Dale, Barbara,

This one definitely hit the mark with me. Very, very clever stuff. McSweeney's stuff is always such a great thing to find in the bookstores too!
