A friend of mine emailed me today to say the highlight of her Coachella weekend was Prince's show and his cover of Radiohead's "Creep". With some minor lyrical adjustments and an unforgettable guitar solo, Prince's "Creep" had the crowd in the palm of his hand with a smile firmly planted on every tired face.Let's hope Radiohead reciprocate. Thom just might be the only falsetto that could handle "Dirty Mind". (I'll accept other suggestions in the comments field. I'm looking at you BB.)
Prince never fails to amaze me in his most excellent choice of cover songs. His performance of Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You" truly one of my own favourites.
Glad he didn't trot out the Shania Twain cover this time though...

I think "Kiss" would be a great addition to the Radiohead canon. Plus Tom's voice could handle it!

Somehow I keep picturing Thom singing Raspberry Beret in that snarly whine he uses when performing their old songs.
Oh and I just heard Prince also covered Sarah McLachlan's In the Arms of an Angel, which I'll bet was lovely.
That's a great one Barbara. One I never considered but one of my favourite songs ever.
I think it would be great to see Radiohead attempt a Prince song. They certainly have the right group dynamic and their sense of musical adventure could lead to something really creative.
I guess we'll just have to wait and see what unfolds on the upcoming tour.
I'm hoping his cover of "Creep" leaks out soon. I must hear it!
I just don't get the appeal here. Prince's music just doesn't age well. Him jumping on the Radiohead bandwagon is predicatble.

I completely agree. That version has got to be heard. I'll certainly let you know if I get a whiff of it anywhere. (we can go listen to the Hindu Love Gods for now...)
