Nation(s), I am here to tell you to watch the Colbert Report this Thursday October 30th. (Check viewer listings for local times.) In all ‘truthiness’ Chicago’s favourite sons will be special musical guests. Sorry Tessa, it’s not the Smashing Pumpkins but those other favourite sons, Wilco.
In other Wilco news... Wilco have already recorded demos for a new album (the follow-up to their 2007 opus, Sky Blue Sky) and are heading into their Chicago studio, the Loft, this month to start rerecording and fleshing them out. Only conjecture here but maybe, just maybe we might see a new album by next summer.

Looking forward to that immensely, even though I wasn't a huge fan of Sky Blue Sky.
Sky Blue Sky was a very divisive record for some fans who found it perhaps a tad breezy compared to previous Wilco fare. I tend to actually really enjoy it now more than I did say, a year ago. This coming from the same person who absolutely adores A Ghost is Born. Either way they remain one of my essentials.
I would highly recommend revisiting Sky Blue Sky. You might be really surprised.

It's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot all the way for me, baby!
I will have to give it a listen again. I actually found I really enjoyed the songs they played from it during their last concert, so I knew there was something there that I had previously missed.
